Avocado Smoothie - a more favorite

It might sound a little bizarre, but this is one of my favorite smoothies. A couple years ago, some friends from Brazil showed us how to make this simple deliciousness: avocado, milk, sugar & vanilla.

Be brave! Try it! Love it!

Toothpaste cupcakes?

These are NOT the cupcakes I made today. But, let me start at the beginning . . . "My libbib is on the flboor." In other words, the dentist went on a Novocaine shooting spree. The guy before me must have asked for a couple extra shots of the numbing painkiller. And, the dentist, just to play it safe or to have some fun, decided to give me an extra two rounds. I think he was just buying time since he went to work on other patients while I was numbing up.

I guess I shouldn't be too upset. I'd rather him go on a shooting spree than a non-numbing drilling spree. It's just that . . .

I ruined my cupcakes.

I had been looking forward to making chocolate cupcakes with mint frosting all week. The cupcakes came out great. I tasted the frosting as I made it to get just the right amount of mint. But when Pedro had a bite, he said, "It tastes like toothpaste." At my offended expression, he kindly suggested I wait until the numbness wore off before I frosted the rest of the cupcakes. I thought, "Well, he just doesn't like mint as much as I do."

Nope.

A few hours later, I discovered, to my great dismay, the frosting tasted like sugary toothpaste. I had been so numb, my taste buds couldn't quite communicate to my brain the actual amount of mint extract flavoring the frosting. Oops.

So, the cute, yummy St. Patty's Day mint chocolate cupcakes I envisioned only exist in my mind, and the unfrosted chocolate cupcakes only exist in my belly.

My baby gives me kisses

Who guessed that big, wet, miss-placed slobbery kisses could bring such joy?

Pedro's new trick

Happy Birthday to our 7-month-old climber! He loves climbing. It's in his genes. Hopefully, he will learn to climb down soon, too, since he often gets stuck in his upright position and calls out for mom.

Carrots must be an acquired taste

Pedro T. did not like carrots the first time we fed him (see images in previous post). But, now he loves them. He leans his face as far forward as he can with his little mouth open in an anxious O. Tonight, he was so excited, he started spitting (he does that) just as I put the spoon in his mouth. You can see the result below. I laughed aloud. I sure love my baby!
