Staying in Minnesota

Pedro graduates from law school in May. "Has it really been three years?" you ask. Yes, it has.

A few months ago, more than one person commented, "Are you glad you can see the light at the end of the tunnel?" - referring to life after graduation. It seemed strange to me because I felt like I was in the light moving toward a dark tunnel of uncertainty (no clue where we would live/work/eat after graduation). I finally came to terms with and felt okay about our decision to move to California without a job. I was very, very, very excited to live closer to family and in warmer weather.

Then, Ben, had to go and throw a wrench in the plan. Oh beautiful wrench!

Ben is Pedro's friend who passed on his resume to the partner of an intellectual property law firm in Minneapolis. This led to an interview which led to an offer to get work experience at the firm with an unofficial job offer which will most likely lead to an official job offer after Pedro passes the bar.

Hooray!

We feel so blessed that Pedro will get this experience in his preferred area of law. We feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family who have kept us in their prayers. We are so grateful for this opportunity that, if it goes as expected, will allow us to be more self-reliant and able to bless others.

So, we are staying in Minnesota. After all, our son can run out to 12* weather without a coat and not be phased a bit. As Pedro says, "He's a Minnesotan kid."

I guess with good friends, supportive family and a kind, loving Heavenly Father, this tunnel wasn't so long that I couldn't hold my breath.

Hi Lisa! Congrats on the job offer! I can't believe it's been 3 years since seeing you at good old Wymount. Thanks for your inspiring posts!

Lisa! That is so great! Congratulations! We are doing the same thing right now-- just waiting to see where we (hopefully) find a job. Justin's masters was also three years, so we're done in May, too! I've got my fingers crossed and I'm trying to remain calm about not knowing where we'll be in two short months : )
